MAGIC OPERATIVE AND NEIL DAY TAKE OUT THE GROUP 1 VICBRED SUPER SERIES
The Neil Day trained and driven Magic Operative continued his success in Victorian feature races by taking out the $100,000 Group 1 Vicbred Super Series for 4yo entires and geldings at Moonee Valley last Friday night.
Starting from barrier 3 the bay Armbro Operative gelding was not bustled early and settled towards the rear of the field before commencing a long and sustained run. Entering the straight for the run to the finish line Armbro Operative was still spotting the leaders the best part of 20m before snatching victory on the winning post. Second across the line was another NSW based raider in Jaydens Castle with third place being taken by Em Maguane.
The overall time was a solid3.13.6 which returned a mile rate of 2:01. The $61,500 first prize cheque takes the winners earnings to just under $300,000. The 4yo will now be aimed at the Australasian Breeders Crown which will be held at the new headquarters of Victorian harness racing at Melton in August
